Golf Simulator Design Plans and Consultation blueprint to finished golf room hero.

The Golf Simulator Design Plans and Consultation service is a one-on-one engagement with Indoor Golf Outlet's design team to plan every component of your custom golf simulator room before a single piece of equipment is ordered. We map your space, recommend the right equipment for your goals and budget, and deliver photorealistic 3D renderings and 2D technical drawings so you can see the finished setup in advance.

Planning a custom golf simulator without professional help means guessing at projector throw distances, screen offsets, and launch monitor placement. Even experienced builders get tripped up by ceiling height tolerances and impact screen clearances. This service takes the guesswork out of the equation so the build is right the first time, whether it is a basement project at home or a multi-bay commercial facility.

The deliverables include a detailed 3D rendering of your room, 2D technical drawings, an itemized equipment recommendation list, and build-ready guidance covering framing, wall protection, electrical placement, and cable routing.

What's Included:

  • One-on-One Design Consultation Call
  • Photorealistic 3D Renderings of Your Room
  • Detailed 2D Technical Floor Plans
  • Custom Equipment Recommendations Sized to Your Space
  • Itemized Equipment Quote with Full Pricing

Whether your space is a basement at home or a bay in a commercial facility, our team mounts, aligns, and calibrates every component with precision so the room performs the day it is finished.

Features

Curved Impact Screen
The curved design wraps the impact screen around your hitting area to enhance depth and realism, delivering a wider field of view and a far more immersive golf simulation than a flat screen.

BlackStop™ Nylon Enclosure Surround
A tough, black nylon surround fabric catches stray shots that attempt to leave the simulator while keeping light off of your hitting area to enhance colors and contrast.

Foam Inserts Included
Pre-sized foam inserts are built into the Curved Enclosure Kit and sit behind the screen flaps to protect the enclosure frame from ricochets and reduce bounceback, creating a quieter and safer setup.

Reduced Bounceback System
A premium impact screen, releasable zip ties, and ball bungees work together to cushion shots and reduce rebound.

Pipe Framing Kit
Includes a pre-cut, labeled 2-inch EMT pipe kit with steel corner fittings for a fully plug-and-play setup. Everything arrives ready to assemble with no local sourcing required.

Back Cover Kit
The Back Cover Kit blocks ambient light from the rear side of the enclosure and creates a more finished appearance that conceals the rear pipe framing.

Safety Baffle
Positioned across the width of your simulator enclosure on the ceiling, the Safety Baffle hangs downward to catch and deflect high-angle shots that may bounce off the impact screen.

Single Projector Setup
The curved enclosure requires only one projector for seamless performance. Additional software may be needed for custom image warping.

What's Included

Choice of Premium or High-Contrast Gray Golf Impact Screen
The Carl's Place Curved Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit gives you the choice between Carl's Place's Premium Golf Impact Screen or the High-Contrast Gray Golf Impact Screen, both crafted from durable, full-impact material designed to deliver exceptional image quality and provide a crisp, curved projected image with minimal bounceback. Upgrade to High-Contrast Gray Golf Impact to elevate contrast, enhance color vibrancy, and to deliver stunning visuals in even the brightest of rooms.

Pipe Framing Kit & Steel Fittings
Size specific 2-inch EMT pipes that are pre-cut to the exact length required to fit your curved enclosure dimensions are included, along with steel corner fittings to connect the framing pipes. No pipe cutting or trip to the hardware store is required.

Foam Inserts
Foam inserts are built into the Curved Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit. They are the perfect length and profile and sit behind the screen flaps to protect your enclosure frame from errant shots, giving you extra peace of mind while hitting balls knowing that you will not damage your frame.

Safety Baffle
One Safety Baffle is included to protect the ceiling of your simulator enclosure while hitting higher shots. It is positioned across the width of your simulator enclosure on the ceiling and hangs downward to catch and deflect high-angle shots that may bounce off the impact screen.

Back Cover Kit & Back Cover Pipe Kit
The Back Cover Kit blocks any intruding light from the rear portion of your simulator enclosure to ensure that you will achieve the highest projected image quality possible. Additionally, the Back Cover Kit provides your simulator enclosure with a polished appearance so none of the rear framing is exposed. The Back Cover Pipe Kit supplies the pre-cut framing pipes and fittings for the rear of the enclosure so you do not have to purchase pipe framing from your local hardware store.

Black Nylon Curved Enclosure
The BlackStop™ nylon enclosure provides a tough surface to catch any stray shots that attempt to leave the simulator while surrounding the hitting area for an immersive, curved experience.

Ball Bungees and Zip Ties
All of the fasteners you need to secure your enclosure and screen are included. Releasable zip ties provide you with an abundance of options for tensioning your impact screen. Enough ball bungees are included so you can experiment with finding the perfect balance of tension and slack for your screen. How close you are hitting to the screen, ball speed, clubs, and spin rate all impact the responsiveness and acoustics of your screen.

FAQ

Q: How far away should I hit from my impact screen?
A: For the safety of both the golfer and the impact screen, we recommend placing the center of your hitting area a minimum of 10'-12' away from the impact screen.

Q: How many projectors do I need, and where should I mount one?
A: The curved enclosure requires only one projector. Because the screen is curved, additional software may be needed for custom image warping, such as Immersive Display PRO. Projector placement depends on your viewable screen dimensions and the throw ratio of your projector, so feel free to reach out to our team for the exact mounting location based on the enclosure size and projector that you choose.

Q: Can I iron or steam a golf impact screen?
A: We do not recommend ironing your impact screen, as it's easy to damage the material. To avoid wrinkles, unpack your impact screen immediately upon arrival and fold it loosely if you need to store it. Most wrinkles will smooth out naturally when the impact screen is mounted with tension using zip ties. If needed, you can carefully use a consumer-grade steamer with distilled water to help remove wrinkles.

Q: Are there safety concerns when using a golf simulator?
A: Safety is a priority with any indoor golf setup. Follow the assembly manual provided with your enclosure, keep children, pets, and spectators out of swing range, and protect nearby walls, ceilings, and windows.

Q: Do I need to use a golf hitting mat?
A: Yes, a golf hitting mat provides a cushioned surface to protect your joints and allows for more realistic practice. When choosing a mat size, consider your stance and whether you need space for both right-handed and left-handed golfers.

Q: What is the difference between Carl's Enclosure Kits?
A: The Curved Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit adds an immersive curved impact screen that wraps around the hitting area for a panoramic playing experience. The Pro Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit is a straight enclosure that offers premium materials, larger sizes, and extra safety features, ideal for commercial setups. Carl's DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit is a simple, budget-friendly straight option to create a golf simulator space.

Q: What if the black enclosure surround material gets hit with a golf ball?
A: The enclosure surround material is not designed for direct impacts, however golf balls rebounding off the impact screen and contacting the enclosure surround should not cause issues. Carl's durable BlackStop™ nylon surround is built to catch stray shots that attempt to leave the simulator.

Q: Can I get a replacement impact screen for the enclosure?
A: Yes, contact sales@indoorgolfoutlet.com for replacement impact screens.

Q: How much buffer space do I need around my enclosure?
A: We recommend allowing for 6"-7" of ceiling buffer space to make installation easier. For width, leave 2"-3" of clearance on each side to avoid the enclosure touching your side walls or other obstacles. Additionally, allow for a minimum of 9.5" behind the enclosure for the rear fitting.

Q: What pipes do I need to construct the enclosure kit frame?

A: Curved Enclosures use 2-inch EMT (True O.D. 2.197" / 55.8 mm). This package includes the Pipe Framing Kit, which provides pre-cut, labeled pipes and steel fittings, so no local sourcing is required.

Q: What are EMT pipes?
A: EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing (also called Electrical Metal Conduit). These metal pipes form the frame of your enclosure. Be sure to use EMT, not PVC, which is incompatible with the enclosure fittings.

Q: Is this suitable for residential and commercial use?
A: Yes, the curved enclosure is perfect for both high-end residential setups and commercial spaces.

Q: How do the ball bungees work?
A: Insert the loop end through a grommet, pull through until the ball touches the screen, wrap the cord around the frame, and hook the loop over the ball to secure the screen.
